Breakfast Club – A gathering of community members that results in organic, in-depth, personal, and open, community-led discussion. Topics range weekly and have included topics such as racism, activism, relationships, the arts, violence, religion, current issues, money, work, and substance abuse. It is not unusual for there also to be a natural evolution of drumming, music, or spoken word. The Breakfast Club gathers every Saturday, 12noon-4pm., in the Living Room. All are welcome. Check it out in the Living Room
African American Think Tank – We’re honored to provide space for the African American Think Tank, a Harrison Neighborhood Association-based organization focused on personal and economic empowerment for African Americans. Members meet every fourth Thursday of the month in the Living Room. Contact Malik Holt for more information: malik@hnampls.org. Check it out in the Living Room.
Women’s Empowerment with Dr. Verna Price – An incredible opportunity to embark on life-altering positive change! Dr. Verna joins us for 12 weeks of challenge, purpose, and change. Drawing focus and inspiration from The Power of People: Four Kinds of People Who Can Change Your Life, and Dr. Verna’s newest book, Change Your Life in 30 Days, women participants from the Redeemer community and Harrison Neighborhood will stretch, grow, and yes, change. This Women’s Empowerment group will challenge who you are, how you think, why you think the way you do, and what you want out of life. Most Monday evenings, October through December 2011, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the Living Room.
